Wreaths Across America at Arlington National Cemetery

December 10, 2023 11:19pm

On December 16th, volunteers will lay wreaths at veterans' graves in national cemeteries throughout the country as part of the Wreaths Across America program. But today, family of a veteran buried at Arlington could place a single wreath at the relative's grave.

With this being the first Christmas since my father died, my mother wanted to personally place a wreath at his grave. So I, along with my mother, wife, and oldest son, placed the wreath against his headstone this afternoon. It was our first time at Arlington since the funeral on July 27th. The weather today was awful. But the pouring rain washed away many tears. Rest in peace, Dad. We love you and miss you.
