Bolton's "Bombshell" is Not a Bombshell

Bolton's claim is nothing new. And it is certainly no "bombshell."

It is not illegal for the President to ask a foreign government for assistance in an investigation of suspected wrongdoing. That is done all the time.

That the suspect is a candidate for office is irrelevant. If all it takes to be immune from investigation is declaring one's candidacy, then I hereby declare my candidacy for President of the United States.
